Learning Observed
Today Darren read “The Dance” with me. He is pointing to the words and reading with fluency. Darren was able to read the basic sight words with ease. When he got to a “tricky” word he needed prompting to sound it out.

Evidence of learning
Darren read this book with fluency. I wonder if he is able to read without pointing to the words?
Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Darren is developing his Capabilities in Reading. He was able to choose a book and begin reading without prompting (Managing Self). Darren is using the pictures to help decode words (Thinking). He is reading many basic sight words (Using Language, Symbols and Texts).
